A Certificate of bachelorhood/single-status/eligibility to get married can be issued by a competent court/ SDM having jurisdiction of the area of the residential address of the applicant. This can be in the form of a certificate/ affidavit notarized by SDM which is required to be counter-attested by the Home Department of the State concerned. Thereafter, it is to be attested/apostilled by the Attestation Section of the Consular, Passport & Visa (CPV) Division of the Ministry of External Affairs, New Delhi.
You can get the marriage certificate apostilled from respective Embassy/Consulate and can then get the certificate authenticated by the Ministry of Government and Consumer Services – Service Ontario (222 Jarvis Street, Toronto). Such authenticated certificate can be presented for attestation at the Consulate.
No such certificate is issued by the Consulate.
If the marriage is performed in India then it has to be registered in India. The documents issued by the Indian Government need to be attested from the General Administration / Home Department of the concerned State Government followed by attestation / Apostille from the Ministry of External Affairs, New Delhi (Patiala House); thereafter, it can be presented to the Consulate for attestation. The document issued from Canadian Government will be subject to get apostile from the provincial office under HCCH convention implemented from 11/01/2024 by canada , there will not be any further legalization needed after apostile of canadian document.

The divorce certificate issued by Canadian Court is ex-parte. According to Indian regulations, a marriage solemnised in India should be dissolved in India. The Consulate can attest such documents only if both partners are having Canadian nationality.
You may get the attestation of affidavit done after submitting your document to any of the BLS CENTER at BLS will send it to the Consulate for the process .
The divorce order issued by the Canadian court while one applicant is in India, is an ex-parte decision and will not be holding good in India as the marriage was solemnized in India and should be dissolved in India only.
For renewal of Passport, marriage certificate or divorce paper is not mandatory.

As indicated on our website you have to get your birth certificate Apostille from Ministry of External Affairs then after Consulate would attest the same once it is also authenticated from Provincial authentication.
Please fill online the application (for Registration of birth of a minor child at an Indian Consulate under Section 4(1) of the Citizenship Act, 1955) at the following link of Ministry of Home Affairs website
After filling the application, please take the printout of the same and bring to the Consulate for registration of birth with the following documents:
i. Miscellaneous Application Form
ii. Ministry of Home Affairs Form
iii. Passport copies of both parents
iv. Canadian status proof of both parents
v. Local address proof
You can get the birth certificate apostilled from respective Embassy/Consulate and can then get the photocopy of the certificate authenticated by the Ministry of Government and Consumer Services – Service Ontario (222 Jarvis Street, Toronto). Such authenticated copy can be presented for attestation at the Consulate.
Consulate cannot issue birth certificate. However, Consulate can issue Certificate of Date of Birth. Applicants are advised to check the acceptability of this Certificate with the authorities before obtaining this Certificate.
Application for certificate of birth is accepted through the outsourced agency BLS International.

Current/expired Indian passport with valid immigration papers in original, address proof and a photocopy.
Fees: C$ 31 + C$ 3 (Consular surcharge) + C$ 7.40 (BLS charges) including tax.
Certificate of Birth is issued only on the basis of original Indian Passport (Valid/Cancelled). Therefore in this case Certificate of Birth cannot be issued.
Consulate does not issue such letter. Applicant has to attest the Driving licence by submitting driving licence extract to be downloded from The ministry of Transport and vehicle authority of India from parivahan portal.
Requirements for attestation of driving license are as follows :
There is no such provision to grant temporary permission. You have to follow the local laws.
You may get new driving license in lieu of lost license from India only.

If the deceased was having INDIAN passport, You may register the death at the Consulate and Certificate will be issued on the same day once submit hard copies of relavant papers to the consulate in -person. There is no provision for online registration. It is also advised to register the death in Canada itself not in India. For carrying ashes to India you need one letter from the Consulate. At the time of application you may just mention that you need death registration and a letter for carrying ashes to India. As per new HCCH convention implementation by Canadian Government ; Ministry office provide Apostile services instead of authentication . The apostille will be given only on the document generated from Canada or any certificates like birth, death, marriage or divorve certificates .
They will not provide apostile on Document generated from India, in your case , you will have to make a power of attorney from any lowyer/ public notery from canada. After that you can get apostille it and submit for attestation.

Indian nationals can prepare the POA with the help of any lawyer/legal expert on a plain paper. The POA is not necessarily to be made on a stamp paper, while the executor is residing abroad. Indian Nationals are not required to authenticate the power of attorney from Service Ontario.

No, Consulate will not be able to assist you in drafting of the POA. you will have to appoint lawyer for drafting and notarizing the POA.

Yes, signatures of two witnesses known to the executor are to be provided on the POA.

If the Will is not registered before the death of the deceased, who has made the Will, it needs to be executed (Probate - A judicial certificate saying that a will is genuine and conferring on the executors the power to administer the estate) by the Court Order from the Court of Ontario and thereafter get the order notarized from Service Ontario (222 Jarvis Street) and the Consulate General of India, Toronto.
Pre-authentication is not mandatory for Indian Nationals only the public notary is required.
Canadian Nationals should first get the will notarized and authenticated by the Ministry of Government Services, Ontario (222 Jarvis Street, Toronto, M7A 0B6) or the concerned Provincial authorities and then take appointment for visiting Consulate along with the required documents to the Consulate for attestation.

Yes, presence of the applicant along with 2 witnesses at the time of submission of the document is needed which is mandatory for the execution of the WILL.
in case if any applicant himself/herself is not able to go in person for will attestation then there is a service for home visit for only WILL cases. for that applicant will have to write an email at attest.toronto@mea.gov.in for requesting an approval .
C$ 28 is for one seal & signature of the Consulate. If the applicant desires to have additional signature and stamp on the last page or any other page as the case may be, where the applicant has put his/her signature on the POA, there will be additional charge per seal & signature of the Consulate.
In case of any applicant (whose will is to be attested) if he/ she is not present due to old age issues like bedridden position and unable to commute; in such case first of all ; they will have to write an email on attest.toronto@mea.gov.in for requesting home visit of the officer which is must in case of WILL and after that ; if approval comes then; the family member will have to come to the consulate to take the officer and drop back at the same location. For home visit and charge for home visit is 128$ , apart from than attestation charges.
